StoreGem platform — merchants & account holders

Privacy Policy

This policy describes how StoreGem collects and uses personal data when you use our website and merchant dashboard. It does not replace the privacy policy that applies to shoppers on an individual merchant's storefront.

1. Who we are

StoreGem ("we", "us") operates the platform available at storegem.com and related services. For data protection questions, contact us at admin@storegem.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email, password (hashed), organization details you provide.
  • Usage & technical data: IP address, device/browser type, logs, cookies and similar technologies, and product usage events.
  • Billing data: processed by our payment providers; we receive limited billing metadata (e.g. subscription status, last four digits where applicable).
  • Content you upload: store settings, product data, images, and configuration you add to the Platform.

3. How we use data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Platform;
  • Authenticate users and manage accounts;
  • Process subscriptions and communicate about billing;
  • Send service and security notices;
  • Comply with law and enforce our terms.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your region, we rely on contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement), consent (where required, e.g. certain cookies or marketing), and legal obligation.

5. Sharing & processors

We share data with subprocessors that help us run the Platform (e.g. hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics, payment processing). They may only use data on our instructions and under appropriate agreements. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

6. Merchant storefronts & end customers

When shoppers use a store or funnel you operate, you act as a controller (or co-controller) for their order and contact data. StoreGem processes that data on your behalf to operate checkout and fulfillment features. Your own storefront privacy policy should explain your practices to customers.

7. Retention

We retain account and billing records as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. You may request deletion of your account subject to applicable retention obligations.

8. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure.

9. International transfers

We may process data in countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise rights, email admin@storegem.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

11. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for session, preferences, security, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.

12. Children

The Platform is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and adjust the effective date where appropriate.
